AGM Style

What is AGM Style?
AGM (Annual General Meeting) is the common name for a style in which there is a head table with speakers, and the rest of the room is seated with theatre seating of rows of chairs all facing the front of the room and usually divided in the center to create ailes and all speakers to move about in ease. There may be a greeting desk at the entrance. Often there is an emcee to officiate the discussion or presentation. This is best suited for 2 hours or less.

- Board Presentations
- Award Presentations
Why AGM Styles work:
They allow the attendees focused attention to the speakers, and allows equal seats of those at the table. An emcee can ensure your agenda is on time. It is recommended for large groups where the guests are not expecting food or drinks, and they are not expected to perform any work.
When AGM Styles don't work:
If the attendees are required to handle anything other than a wine class or coffee cup, it is not comfortable. This style does not allow for socializing so it is always recommended to set-up a cocktail hour immediately following.
Theatre Style

What is Theatre Style?
Theatre style allows you to jam in as many people as possible, and have a stage with a theatrical performance. This may be you, doing a presentation on a podium, or perhaps your debut as a musician or magician. Perhaps you just want to get on your soapbox for a crowd, or perhaps you have brought in a powerful motivational speaker. Podiums are included in the rental. Stages are extra. Audio and Visual equipment also extra.
Common types of events for Theatre Style:
- Speaker presentations
- Announcements
- Presentations
- Performances
Why Theatre Styles work:
They allow the attendees focused attention to the speakers. The speaker is called up to speak or perform, and there is drama in that, clapping ensues. It is a big deal. This style allows for maximum seating.
When Theatre Styles don't work:
They are awkward for small group and so we suggest only using this style when over 30. With this style as well as the AGM, it does not allow for socializing so it is always recommended to set up a cocktail hour immediately following. After all, when you said it was at 40 Knots, it is what they are expecting.
