Tasting Notes
2025 July: Tasting notes by Karl www.mywinepal.com : A clear, bright medium-plus apricot colour in the glass. Medium-plus intensity aromas of ripe stone fruits a hint of honey, plus a touch of oranges and sweet spices with swirling. Very fruity aromas (esters). This wine is dry, medium-minus body with a lean, soft mouthfeel. Lighter tannins and medium acidity. Medium-plus flavour intensity of dried stone fruits, peach skin and a touch of oranges. A medium-plus length finishing off with the dried stone fruits, peach skin and some bitter peach pit. Lightly drying tannins and medium acidity on the finish.
Which dishes would I suggest enjoying with this wine?
Washed rind cheeses (e.g., Taleggio, Époisses) their funkiness matches the wine's fruit and spice complexity.
Wild mushroom risotto where the umami and earthiness highlight the wine’s depth without adding weight.
Seared scallops with browned butter and citrus. The sweetness and acidity from the dish match the wine’s intensity and flavours.
Lamb kofta with mint yogurt and pickled onions.
