This cocktail has some pretty solid nautical roots, just like Admiral Edward Vernon - the Naval Officer whose preference for jackets made from grogram cloth brought us the nickname "Grog" for rum rations in the British navy. A variation on the tiki-style drink '3 dots and a dash' which itself is Morse code for V (for victory!) and is normally identified by a garnish of three cherries and a pineapple frond, this Vancouver Island version is seasonal, sessionable, and has been made with delicious local ingredients. 40 Knots Pickled Grapes feature prominently in the drink as well as the iconic garnish which hearkens back to its inspiration. Drunken Hive Rum and Krupnik from Wayward Distillery, Nocino from Ampersand Distillery, and Hopped Apple Plum Cider from Ravens Moon Craft Cidery, keep the fall vibes rolling - crisp and cozy!
