Using 40 Knot's Spindrift Traditional sparkling and Wayward's krupnik, this is a local favorite at Christmas or any cool day outside, while enjoying the fresh salt air breeze.
Ingredients
- 1 oz 40 Knots Sprindrift
- 1 oz Wayward Krupkik
- 1/2 oz Cardoman and star anise simple syrup
- 1 oz Blood orange freshly squeezed
- Cranberries
- Thyme
Directions
Simple Syrup: Make simple syrup a day ahead if possible. Boil half sugar, half water, steep cardamon and star anise. I usually make enough to result in two cups of syrup which for best flavor, add 3-star anise and two dashes of cardamon.
Chill flutes.
Squeeze blood oranges, keeping a twisted peel for garnish if you wish.
Now comes the fun.
Add the one once Krupnik, burning the bottom third of the glass.
Add the simple syrup and then the juice.
Carefully pour in Spindrift to the top of the glass.
Garnish with a sprig of Thyme and drop in two cranberries.
Serve.
